Scarecrow

I had to make the scarecrow - crochet with some knitting as I am not that good at knitting.  The pattern was an old one from the original magazine - this is what it is supposed to look like and this is how it turned out to be!

What a weekend!!

What a weekend! Started off nicely then we had the most awful storm – strong winds – the sky turned orange then almost total darkness with the thunder clouds and then very heavy rain that flooded the garden and must have caused so much damage across the country. Yesterday another thunderstorm came with hailstones! And to round everything off – the woman problems – it was so bad you just go into such a deep depression and want to disappear….bloody hormones….. Then the volcano in Iceland spewed ash over Europe – my brother is now stuck in Paris (lucky him!).  and father in hospital for an angiogram and stend - the nurses taking good care of him so his recovery is good!

Anyway I finished a very simple blouse in a day with crochet border (to hide any mistakes!!!!!) My art course arrived – botanical illustration – very disappointing really – it was just a folder that took 3 weeks to get here and didn’t look very exciting – so haven’t really read it yet! Must make the effort.

That's Chang getting quite irritated .....

Anyway that holiday week after giving up exploring I made a Kusudama (3D modular origami) attached with a Kumihimo (Japanese Braiding). Supposed to be a sea urchin! Love doing it.

A 'week' of exploration

Last week was a holiday so I decided to explore Kuwait as I have not been around for many years. First I went to my favourite area Doha where they build Dhows (the old wooden boats). What a shock! They were gone and all that was around was warehouses and what was left of any beaches were disgusting and black from pollution. Never going there again! All in all I saw Kuwait in two days; north to south; border to border. There was nothing to see except rubbish - no beaches left - all taken by chalet and no where to go except shopping malls!!!!!!!!!!!!
